Snorkeling Supplies

Snorkeling is a much more lenient sport than many other water sports when it comes to then things you need to participate. Where wet suits, machinery, or boats are required for many water sports, snorkeling supplies are fairly easy to come by. All you really need to snorkel is a snorkeling vest, a set of flippers, and a mask with a breathing tube and mouthpiece.

The mask and breathing tube are what would be considered essential snorkeling supplies. After all it’s hard to snorkel without the snorkel. It is important to check the mouthpiece for proper fit when buying a mask, as well as having a tube with a large enough volume that you get the air you need. If the tube is too small for your size, you will feel constantly short of breath while snorkeling, and it’s not a pleasant feeling.

While a vest and flippers aren’t essential snorkeling supplies, no one will recommend snorkeling without them. The vest allows you to exert less effort to keep your body afloat, which means you can snorkel for longer before becoming tired. Flippers or fins strap to your feet and make each kick more powerful. Again, this reduces the effort you must exert to propel yourself, which will let you stay out longer without exhausting yourself.
