Snorkel Set

Your snorkel set is what you’ll take with you into the water. In addition to the traditional supplies like the mask, fins, buoyancy vest, and breathing apparatus; there are some things you can take with you on your snorkeling trip to use while out there. One of the most rewarding items to pick up is a camera.

As you might guess, a camera isn’t part of the standard snorkel set. And for good reason, your average camera isn’t water compatible. The film in a camera is ruined if it is exposed to water prior to development. And digital cameras are even worse! If film and water aren’t on speaking terms, electronics and water are at war with one another. Fortunately you don’t have to break the bank trying to get a camera to use while snorkeling.

There are single use waterproof cameras available in most grocery and house ware stores. These cameras make a cheap addition to your snorkel set, but they can pay huge dividends. If you see something fantastic while you’re out, one of these cameras will capture that image so that years later, it will still be as clear as the day it happened. While not essential to snorkeling, a waterproof camera will allow you to relive the adventure for the rest of your life.
